Found: Megan Miranda's "Fracture"

This is going to be a mega short post because I am ill.
It is very sad. I'm finding the whole being upright thing incredibly dizzy-making and cannot wait to turn my computer off and go and lie down again. As a result of this illness I have spent a lot of today either sleeping, lying on a sofa doing nothing, or watching Torchwood.

Owen is dead, but still walking around. It's most confusing, especially to my fuzzy, medicated brain.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about Torchwood (oh, how I wish I was!), I am here to talk about books. Gahhh the brain power required to read books, you wouldn't believe it until you'd lost it...

Luckily I read a book yesterday, which was 'Fracture' by Megan Miranda. It only came out last month, but I've had it since November as I was given a pre-publication proof copy. It took me this long to get around to reading it.

I do not have the energy to tell you why this book was so good. This makes me sad as I did think it was good and I think many of you would like it if you read it (many of you. Ha. No one reads this blog), and I will probably rewrite this post some time when I can see.

However it is a good book. I cried. She quotes Les Miserables, and as I said in my email to her,
"People who quote Les Mis are automatically more awesome than people who don't."
Yes, I emailed her. She has her email address on her website, and I'd just cried at her book. I felt she needed to know this. She said my email made her day :)

Anyway, read this book. You probably won't cry unless you're listening to the Finale from Les Mis at the same time as reading the last two chapters, so try doing that. Or, if you don't want to cry, don't.

In the meantime, I'm going to go and head-butt a pillow. Preferably for about ten hours.

  1. I love Les Mis - and I must say I haven't cried at a book in a good long while. Get better soon Mimzy! Wow, that's an awful name ... sorry Captain xD

    1. Yeah, that's really not a great name. My mum calls me Mimsy when I'm particularly upset or ill, but very rarely. I prefer Captain ;)

  2. Okay You two need to take me to see Les Mis... I'm horribly uneducated. *grin*

Here's to hoping you feel better soon Miriam!
